Siya Deodhar and Shomira Bidaye two of Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana have been invited to attend the National Coaching camp of the Indian under 16 Women’s Basketball team at Basketball Academy, Jayprakash Narayan National Youth Center, Vidya Nagar, Bengaluru informed Chander Mukhi Sharma Secretary General Basketball Federation of India through his letter dated 22nd Feb 2020.
The coaching camp will be held from 25th Feb to 4th April 2020. The team selected from this camp will participate in FIBA Under 16 Asian Women Championship scheduled to be held from 5th April to 10th April 2020.16 years old Siya and 14 year old Shomira already took part in various coaching camps and programs organised by NBA at USA and Tokiyo.Both Siya and Shomira practices daily at Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana courts under guidance of Shiv Chatrapati Awardee Shatrughna Gokhale and Vinay Chikate.
