Raut’s blitzkrieg drives Centre Point School home

Daksh Raut’s blitzkrieg knock helped Centre Point School, Katol Road thrash Sandipani School by eight wickets in the Boys’ U-14 match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Cricket Tournament in Nagpur on Wednesday.

Raut hammered 90 runs in just 33 balls to help his school chase down 178 in just 20.2 overs. He was given good support by Devansh Thakkar from the other end remained unbeaten on 64 and steered his side home after losing just two wickets.

Earlier, Sandipani School put up a fighting total of 178 all-out in 40 overs to test Centre Point batting but Raut and Thakkar made the chase look like a cakewalk in the end.

In another match, Shri Rajendra High School rode on Shree Choudhary’s unbeaten hundred to steamroll Somalwar High School by 51 runs. Choudhary scored 106 to anchor the innings and help his side pile a score of 208/8 in 40 overs. Yash Gupta was the second-best contributor with 30 runs.

Chasing a total in excess of 200, Somalwar High School batsmen were left with too many to get in the end and were bowled out for 157 in 38.3 overs. Choudhary chipped in with a wicket with the ball to complement his bowler’s efforts.

Tayawade Ground: Centre Point School (Dabha) 110/4 in 34 overs (Iknoor Bhamra 39, Rajvansh Agrawal 34) beat The South Public School 109/10 in 32.4 overs, by 6 wickets.

Player of the Match: Iknoor Bhamra of Centre Point School (Dabha) for scoring 39(86) and 1 wicket.

MSCB: Shri Rajendra High School 208/8 in 40 overs (Shree Choudhary 106*, Yash Gupta 30) beat Somalwar High School 157/9 (all out) in 38.3 overs, by 51 runs.

Player of the Match: Shree Choudhary of Shri Rajendra High School for scoring 106*(117) and 1 wicket.

MSCA: Bhavan’s BP Vidyamandir (Ashti) 190/10 in 39.1 overs (Shikhar Randhir 38, Anish Thengre 38) beat Narayan Vidyalaya (Wardha Road) 123/10 in 37.2 overs, by 67 runs.

Player of the Match: Shikhar Randhir of Bhavan’s BP Vidyamandir (Ashti) for scoring 38(65) and 1 wicket.
