The festive season is near and this will be the first time that festival will be celebrated with more precaution as the Covid-19 pandemic is spreading rapidly everywhere.
The ten days Ganeshotsav festival is near and will begin from August 22, with this Nagpur Municipal Corporation has decided to restrict the size of Ganesh idol to 4 feet. A decision was taken in a review meeting of the health department today.
State Government guidelines regarding Ganeshotsav will be issued soon. However, Mayor Sandeep Joshi has appealed to all of us to be vigilant and make this year’s Ganeshotsav a healthy festival.
Mayor Sandeep Joshi said that the guidelines of the Maharashtra Government regarding Ganeshotsav will be issued till July 20.
Public Ganeshotsav should be avoided if possible. Arogyotsav should be celebrated at this public Ganeshotsav place. He also said that health awareness programs should be conducted in society to deal with today’s situation.
As per the appeal made by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, no Ganesh idol in the city should be more than four feet high. No more than 50 people should be present during the celebration. Social distance should be observed, everyone should wear a mask, use hand sanitizer. In particular, the mayor has appealed to avoid processions during the installation or immersion of Lord Ganesha.
We want to celebrate this year’s celebration of Vighnaharta Shriganesha with special care while facing the crisis of Corona. Special care has to be taken to ensure that there is no crowd of citizens anywhere. Mayor Sandeep Joshi has also appealed to immerse Ganesh idols in an artificial lake.
