Amid the increasing COVID-19 cases in city, state government has decided to establish a 1,000- bedded jumbo hospital at Mankapur for treating the patients. The facility would cater to patients from entire Vidarbha as current beds in government hospital are falling short. Dr.Nitin Raut, guardian minister presided over a meeting held at Divisional Commissionerate regarding the hospital. The State Government is providing finance for it.
As per information,at Mumbai and Pune, already such jumbo hospitals are coming up and they are in final stages of construction. With no respite from novel coronavirus pandemic, and to ease burden on existing Government hospitals, it was decided to have one mega health unit that can cater to symptomatic, mild and less severe cases.
Dr Raut said that Mankapur Sports Stadium is well-equipped and hence Government has chosen it for Jumbo Hospital.
