Apart from temples the other places of worship in the city also saw very few people visiting the premises. Although the authorities admit that they had a sigh of relief when the decision of the State Government to reopen religious places came but people are still scared and hesitant to come here and pray.
The shrine in Civil Lines saw very few people entering the premises. Kasaur Hussain a person visiting the shrine said, “We came and prayed today but the COVID fear has just not left us, it’s still there and we’ll always fear that we might touch something and will get infectedâ€.
Another person Marayam said, “Today I just came alone I didn’t bring my kids with me as I feared that they might get infectedâ€.
People coming to the shrine said that it’s going to take some time for the people to come and pray without having any fears, maybe a few more months or till the time vaccine for the disease is launched at the global market. Since we have waited for so long we have to be patient and wait for some more time.
The churches in the city have still not opened and one of the authority members of the church Jerry Mathews said that even though the State Government has allowed places of worship to be opened but we have not yet taken any decision, in a day or two the authorities of the church will be meeting and the decision will be taken accordingly.
