The social media world for the first time witnessed a new record, as American social media personality and dancer, Charli D’ Amelio has become the first creator to hit 100 million followers, on the Chinese short video making app TikTok.
The 16-year-old girl has had an unprecedented rise on the video-sharing app as to date, only two other TikTok creators have reached 50 million followers.
D’Amelio has also appeared in a Super Bowl commercial and has a Dunkin’ Donuts drink dedicated to her.
She has also performed and shared the stage with several Hollywood celebrities. As per sources, she is soon going to launch a book on her journey entitled ‘Essentially Charli: The Ultimate Guide to Keeping It Real’. It is expected to hit the stands next month.
On TikTok, the teenager is way ahead in terms of followers than Hollywood star Will Smith, The Rock, and music sensation Selena Gomez, and several others.
