Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh’s ‘Sahitya Katta’ to showcase memorable solos from Marathi classics
Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh will organise ‘Marm Bandhatli Thev…’, an evening of monologue performances, under its ‘Sahitya Katta’ initiative on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 6 pm at Shrimant Baburao Dhanwate Hall, Shankar Nagar Square, Nagpur.
The programme will feature noted theatre artistes from Nagpur presenting iconic monologues from some of the most celebrated plays of Marathi theatre. Renowned actress Asavari Tidke Gadekar is the coordinator of the programme, while playwriter Dr Parag Ghonge will anchor the event.
Veteran artistes including Devendra Dodke, Prabhakar Ambone, Meena Deshpande, Mukund Vasule, Shraddha Telang, Neelkanth Kulsange, Sanyukta Thorat, Mohan Pande, Devendra Lute, Ashok Agre, Vinod Tumbde, Vaidehi Chavre, Deepalakshmi Bhat, Salim Sheikh, Sachin Giri, Pranali Raut, Geet Kale, Vinod Kale, Amar Kulkarni and Amar Masram will perform memorable excerpts and monologues from acclaimed Marathi plays such as Natsamrat, Ekach Pyala, Ti Phulrani, Matsyagandha, Sakharam Binder and Vaje Paul.
The ‘Sahitya Katta’ initiative, launched by the newly elected executive committee of Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh, is held on the third Saturday of every month. The platform is dedicated to presenting diverse streams of literature through innovative and creative formats. The previous edition, centred on poetry, received an enthusiastic response from literature lovers.
Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh has appealed to literature enthusiasts, theatre lovers and art connoisseurs to attend the unique cultural programme in large numbers.
