Rajiv Gandhi remembered on his 41st death anniversary

City remembers Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of the country on his 41st death anniversary today. Considering the lockdown period due to pandemic program’s like sanitations of the society and distribution of masks were held and also other help to the Covid patients are being organized in the city.

Congress Party and various other social organisations has conducted program to pay tribute to the beloved leader.

Girish  Pandav, Secretary of MPCC said, “Being a pandemic period, small programs are being held for paying tribute to the great leader of our country. My team is continuously organizating several programe of vaccination of senior citizen, sanitization of colony, distribution of food to relatives of patients etc. which will continue today also.”

Nitin Kumbalkar, AICC Member added that Rajivji will be remembered for a long time. Whenever in need, citizens immediately seek help from their corporators or their sarpanchs depending upon the place they live in. This bottom-up approach of governance, known as the Panchayati Raj and conceptualized in 1986, has completely revamped our understanding of democracy.

His vision of women empowerment lead to 33 percent reservation of the seats for women, are all started by Rajivji.

“In addition, the reduction of voting age from 21 to 18 in 1989 has placed our youth behind the steering wheels of our nation,” Kumbalkar said.

Citizens coupled with knowledge are the most potent mixture for any country to progress. Indians are laden with knowledge from agriculture to manufacturing and from science to economics. Mobiles, laptops and internet have been the medium of this knowledge transfer. We would have been nowhere close to where we are today, if telecom revolution would not have been unleashed in the 1980s by Rajiv Gandhi.

“On the death anniversary of  a man who continues to prosper our lives even today, let us remember him“ said Trisharan Sahare, Congress leader.

Many other paid tribute to Late Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary.
