Various schemes are designed for the welfare of disabled persons by the State Government and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) but for getting benefit, registration process was started from Monday. The online portal will increase transparency and the last person stands to benefit from the schemes. Therefore, every disabled person in the city should register on-line, appealed Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari after inaugurating the on-line registration for year 2021-22.
The function was held at Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Hall at civic headquarters in the presence of Deputy Mayor Manisha Dhawde, Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B and many others.
while speaking on the occassion, Mayor Tiwari said, the Social Development Department should create awareness through various means so that every disabled person should be aware of this. Mayor further said that, Divyang Suvidha Kendras should be started in all the Zonal offices of NMC to provide information about this scheme to the citizens. They should be allowed to fill up the forms at each Zonal office and.also through the Maha e-portal. He also suggested to improve the financial assistance scheme
for the disabled and link it with the bank’s scheme.
He also instructed to allow the disabled to set up stalls on e-rickshaws. While praising the work of the Social Development Department, the Mayor praised IT Cell for creating the web portal of the department.
The scheme made for the upliftment of
the disabled, will be very beneficial to enlist the help of corporators to register more. Once registered, this registration will be applicable for all schemes. He
lauded the IT team of NMC for designing portal in short time.Â
To register, the disabled should visit the official website of Nagpur Municipal Corporation https://www.nmcnagpur.gov.in.
Then click on the link that says ‘Registration of Divyang Yojana through Social Welfare Department’ in red. Then enter mobile number and get OTP (One Time Password). Disability certificate, Aadhaar card, school leaving certificate, marklist, ration card, photo, voting card should be attached while registering.
