Recruitment of professors is the first priority of the MVA Government: Uday Savant, Maharashtra Minister of Technical and Higher Education

While addressing a press conference on Tuesday Uday Savant, Maharashtra Minister for Technical and Higher Education said that the first priority of the Maha Vikas Aaghadi (MVA) Government was recruitment of professors.

As per the approval of the High Power Committee for 4074 post of professors, 1100 to 1200 post were filled till date. But due to the pandemic and strain on treasury, the process of recruitment was stopped. But soon the process of recruitment will be started.

The minister also assured that the demand of increasing payment of visiting or contractual faculties, in line with the private university will also be done. “The Government has decided to pay higher rate per lectures to the visiting faculties.”

He also added that he was also on the mission of distributing ventilators to various district of the region. He said, “We are making all medical facility to face the third wave. But the third wave will hit or not we don’t know. Even the supplied ventilators may not be used. But all the medical facilities must be in place is the mission of the MVA Government,” He said.
