The High Court Bar Association Executive Commission Election declared on 20th January 2021 is hereby cancelled. The fresh Election Programme shall be declared in future at appropriate time.
The Election Programme was declared in January 2021 and the polling was scheduled on 25 March 2021. However due to sudden outbreak of second wave of Covid-19, the polling could not be held even though postponed from time to time to explore the possibility of conducting polling terms of the Election Programme announced in January 2021.
With the passage of period of more than five months since the date of declaration of Election Programme, the eligibility for being voter has undergone a change as per the provisions of HCBA constitution.
In the like manner many members have become eligible for being voters as well as for being candidates. Uncertainties are still prevailing and even though physical working of the Hon’ble High Court might resume, it would still be with strict restrictions.
Taking into account all these circumstances the Election Committee is of the considered opinion that the election programme declared in January 2021 is rendered inexecutable by passage of time. Hence the Election Programme for HCBA Executive Committee Elections has been cancelled.
