Jungle safari in Karhandala, Bor, Pench now open for tourists

After getting a nod from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), the Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) and Umred Paoni Karhandala Sanctuary (UPKS) open its gates for tourists from Saturday.

The core area of PTR will remain open till June 30 and thereafter the parks will close for the monsoon.

However, Naglwadi buffer, Paoni buffer and Karhandala gate of UPKS will remain open even after July 1 during monsoon period, subject to closure anytime due to excess rains and road damage.

For entire period, only limited number of routes will be opened and 50% of vehicles quota of the gate will be operated.

PTR’s Sillari and Khursapar gates will remain open till June 30 while PTR’s buffer gates to open even after June 30. The Bor Tiger Reserve to remain closed due to heavy rains and damaged roads.

Considering the order by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Nagpur about restricted movements, the forenoon and afternoon Safari are rescheduled to 6 am to 9.30 am and Afternoon Safari from 1 pm to 4 pm, till the present restrictions order of DDMA is in effect.

All safari booking will be offline only, and tourists are requested to refer to www.mahaecotourism.gov.in website for knowing more about gates, rates, contact details etc.

All the tourists, guides and drivers will have to strictly follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour that is use of mask for all the time, use of sanitizers and maintaining social distancing etc. Vehicles will be adequately sanitized.
