Case filed against 38 celebs including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn for reveling rape victim’s identity

It has been two years since the horrific ‘Disha rape case’ that shook the entire nation in the outskirts of Hyderabad. A 26-year-old veterinary doctor was gang-raped, killed, and burnt alive by four men.

The incident shocked the nation and not just commoners, even the Indian celebrities had expressed their sadness over the matter and had taken to social media to show the same and some even revealed the name of the victim. And now, that has put them in legal trouble.

As per the latest reports, a case has been registered against 38 Indian celebrities including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and others for revealing the identity of the rape victim on social media. The case is against 38 film celebrities from Tollywood and Bollywood.

As per the law, it is unethical to use the real name of rape victims in media or any public platform and now, a Delhi-based lawyer has filed the case. The case has been filed against Anupam Kher, Farhan Akhtar, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Maharaja Ravi Teja, Rakul Preet Singh, Allu Sirish, Charmme Kaur, and other celebs by lawyer Gaurav Gulati.

Gaurav filed a complaint regarding the same in Sabzi Mandi Police Station under IPC section 228 A and also filed a petition in Tees Hazari Court. In his complaint, the Delhi-based lawyer said that instead of setting an example for others, Indian celebrities of such big stature forgot their moral ethics and mentioned the real name of the victim without any social responsibility.

The Delhi-based lawyer Gaurav Gulati has filed a complaint against the celebrities regarding the same in Sabzi Mandi Police Station under IPC section 228 A and also has filed a petition in Tees Hazari Court, alleging that these celebrities were not being responsible citizens.

Gulati accused the celebrities of revealing the name of the rape victim despite the law prohibiting the act. The case has been filed as the celebs instead of setting an example for others by not publicizing the victim’s name, have themselves broken the rule by revealing her real identity on social media platforms. Therefore the lawyer has reportedly sought an immediate arrest of all the above celebs, alleging that they have shown no social responsibility while maintaining the privacy of the victim.
