In an effort to generate awareness about growing pollution, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is observing ‘Car free’ day on Wednesday. This is also a part of 75th year of India’s independence.
A bicycle rally has been organized from Ladies Club Square, Civil Lines, here, at 6.30 am. The message to be propagated is ‘Leave car, use bicycle or metro’.
Besides NMC, Nagpur Police, Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation, Nagpur Metro, Mills and Millers, Cycle for Change, India Pedals, Laughter Riders and Runners have joined hands for the rally.
The rally is an initiative to promote use of public transport instead of private vehicles, to protect the ever degrading environment in urban areas and also for a healthy lifestyle. NMC has appealed to environment lovers to participate in large numbers.
