After Katrina Kaif-Vicky Kaushal and Mouni Roy-Suraj Nambiar, another celebrity couple is all set to get marry. On February 21, Farhan Akhtar and his girlfriend Shibani Dandekar will tie the knot.
The couple had been together for nearly four years. In an interview with a popular entertainment website, Javed Akhtar confirmed that their wedding will be simple and will take place at his family’s home in Khandala.
Javed Akhtar has now officially confirmed the wedding date and shared some interesting wedding plans. Farhan and Shibani’s families intend to invite only close friends and family due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said, “Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain (the rest of the preparations for the wedding) that is being taken care of by the wedding planners.â€
Javed revealed that they are not planning for a large scale wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak toh invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hai (We are yet to send out the invitations),” he added.
He also went on to talk about Shibani and said that the family is fond of her. “She is a very nice girl. All of us like her very much, “He said. He further elaborated on the dynamics between the couple and added, “The most important thing is that Farhan and she get along very well, which is great.”
Farhan and Shibani never shy away from sharing loved-up pictures on social media. Farhan took to Instagram on January 17 to share a photo from Javed Akhtar’s birthday celebration. Shibani was also present at the event.
Sharing the photo, Farhan wrote, “Mi familia. Missed you @babaazmi @chatdelalune @akiraakhtar (sic).”
Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar made their relationship official in 2018. Since then, the duo was often spotted together.
