Maharashtra Selection Chess Championship concludes

Maharashtra State (Under-8) Open & Girls Selection Chess Championship got over today which was held in Symbiosis Sports Centre on 12th & 13th March 2022
in Pune.

Madhuri Sahastrabudhe (Corporator, Founder & Director of Balranjan Kendra, Partner – Sakas Foods), Mr. Ashwin Trimal (Vice President, Pune District
Chess Circle), Mrs. Swati Ghate (Woman Grand Master), Mr. Abhishek Kelkar (International Master), Dr. Satish Thigale (Director- Symbiosis Sports Centre) were present for the prize distribution ceremony.

Total 9 rounds for Open & 8 rounds for Girls Category were conducted.

In the Open Category- Reyaansh Venkat (Mumbai) secured 1st Rank, he scored 8.5 pts, Nirvaan Shah (Mumbai) secured 2nd Rank, he scored 8 pts and Vihaan Agrawal (Mumbai) secured 3rd Rank with 7.5 pts.

In the Girls Category- Bhumika Waghle (Aurangabad) secured 1st Rank, she scored 8 pts, Ira Bohra (Pune) secured 2nd Rank she scored 6.5 pts and Tvesha
Jain (Mumbai) secured 3rd Rank, she scored 6 pts.

Top 2 Participants from Open & Girls category will be representing Maharashtra State in the MPL 34th National Under – 8 Chess championships which will be held in Andhra Pradesh from 9th May – 14th May 2022.
Congratulations to all the winners & best wishes to all the participants for the National Championships.
