Maharashtra States under 12 Open and Girls Chess Championship Stage to inaugurate on March 19

Stage is set for the inauguration of “Maharashtra States Under 12 Open and Girls Chess Championship which gets underway on 19th March 2022 at G H Raisoni Institute of Engineering & technology College, Shraddha park, Near MIDC Police Station, Hingna- Wadi Link Road Nagpur on March 19 at 9.00 am at the hands of Girish Vyas, Vice President, Maharashtra Chess Association.

The Championship is organized by Chess Association Nagpur in Association Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and G H Raisoni Sports and Cultural foundation. The Prizes of the event are sponsored by “Dinshaws”.

The other dignitaries gracing the inauguration function are Nagesh Sahare, President of AAI Foundation. The Prize Distribution function shall be held on March 20 at 5.30 pm. Dr. Parinay Fuke, MLC and President, Maharashtra Chess Association has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the Prize Distribution Function. Dr. Vivek Kapoor, Director Raisoni Group and Dilip Dive, Noted Social Worker will be the Guest of Honour for the Prize Distribution Function.   Niranjan Godbole, Secretary of Maharashtra Chess Association is also likely to visit Nagpur during the tournament period.

The tournament is an official selection event for selection of Maharashtra Chess Players for participation in the National Under-12 (Open and Girls) Chess Championship to be held later this year. Currently, more than 130 players have already registered for participation in the event from various districts of Maharashtra State.

A recognized team of arbiters headed by Chief Arbiter Ajinkya Pingale from Mumbai, Deputy Arbiter SNA Sheetal Panbude, IA Pravin Pantawane, NA Amit Temburne, Amit Bhongare, Prayas Ambade and others have already started the preliminary preparations.

Organising Team under the Chairmanship of   Nishant Gandhi,  President, Chess Association, Nagpur,   Bhushan  was, Organising Secretary,   S. S. Soman, Member of Organising Committee and officials of Chess Association Nagpur, Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and G.H.Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation are working hard for the successful organization of the event.
