The uncontrolled rioters have set afire houses of ministers and have started beating members of parliament. Armed Forces have been deployed to control the protesters. Some of the MPs were stripped and beater mercilessly. The forces have been ordered to shoot the protestors who indulge in violence.
Riots erupted following resignation by the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. After setting on fire Rajapaksa’s residence, those of ministers Sanath Nisantha, Johnson Fernando, Prasanna Ranatunga and others were also burnt. Many of the ministers and MPs had to run for safety, Video of stripped MPs became viral. During the riots ten persons have been reported dead and hundreds injured.
Personnel from Army, Air Force and Navy have been ordered to control the riots and shoot those indulging in damaging the property or inflicting injuries upon human beings.
