India scripts history by winning the Thomas Cup Badminton for the first time. India defeated 14 time champion Indonesia 3-0 on Sunday.
After winning the first singles by Lakshya Sen 2-1. The doubles by Rankhedi- Chirag Shetti won the doubles 2-1.
The icing on the cake was designed by Kidambi Srikanth by winning the singles in tough fight straight against J Christie 2-0. Srikwon 21-16, 23-21.
This was the maiden entry of India in the Thomas Cup finals.
India has entered finals for the first time. Lakshya Sen won the first singles 2-1 against Anthony Ginting.
The doubles by Rankireddi and Chirag Shetti against Kevin Sanjaya and Mohd Ahsan was a tight match which Indian pair won 2-1
