The decision on the one-day bail applications of Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik, will be taken on June 8. Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh is in jail in a money laundering case. Malik is also in the prison on similar charges.
Deshmukh and Malik have applied for one-day bail for exercising voting for the Rajya Sabha elections.
The special court, referred both the applications on Monday, to the Enforcement Directorate to file its response to the applications. The special court would take a decision on the applications on June 8. The Rajya Sabha polls are scheduled for June 10.
Deshmukh was arrested in November last following charges of corruption levelled against him by former Mumbai Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh. Malik was held in February in connection with money laundering and activities linked to gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
