‘Winning five seats was tough, not impossible’ Devendra Fadnavis

Former chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis has said that there is visible unrest within the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and the very unrest will help the BJP in the upcoming Legislative Council elections.

Fadnavis said that his eyes were set on winning five seats for the BJP. “The task is hard, but not impossible,” he said.

Fadnavis further accused the MVA of trying to harm the BJP’s count. “The efforts are on to reduce the numbers of BJP, but that will not happen. Ravi Rana sent a notice to this very effect. But these tactics will not work,” he said.

Maharashtra BJP said that it is confident of winning five seats in the upcoming Legislative Council elections. The party said that under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis it has already chalked out its winning strategy.

This comes even as the Shiv Sena has already placed its MLAs in a five-star hotel and the Congress has accused the Central government of calling the MLAs directly and applying pressure.

On Saturday, BJP MLAs gathered at a five-star hotel for a closed door strategy meeting. Chants of Jai Shree Ram, Jai Hanuman echoed in the party meet. “This very enthusiastic attitude of you MLAs will ensure victory for the BJP,” said a smiling Devendra Fadnavis to his party men. State BJP President Chandrakant Patil then said that the BJP was sure to win yet again under the able leadership of Devendra Fadnavis.

The MVA which suffered a setback during the Rajya Sabha polls has yet again charged the BJP of misusing the central agencies for pressuring the MLAs and also spreading misinformation that there were cracks between the alliance partners.
