Aurangabad will be Sambhaji Nagar, Osmanabad will now be Dharashiv and New Mumbai International Airport will be named after D B Patil.
The proposals have been cleared by the Maharashtra Cabinet on Thursday.
The meeting, considered to be the last one for the MVA government.
The cabinet is stated to have taken 11 decisions.
The demand for changing name of Aurangabad was pending since last several years. The demand for changing name of Osmanabad was also pending.
The proposal for name of Navi Mumbai International airport after D B Patil was placed in the meeting.
The three proposals were cleared by the Government.
