Aug 4 last date for registering names of teams for hockey competitions

District Sports Office will organise hockey competitions for players upto 15 years age (boys) and below 17 years of age (boys and girls) groups for district level selection for national level Nehru Cup Hockey Tournaments for juniors and sub-juniors being organised by Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament Society, New Delhi.

The schools and teams interesting in the tournament should submit their entry forms plus participation fee at District Sports Office, till August 4 upto 5 pm. The office is organising competitions after coronavirus pandemic for the first time on district level in the second week of August. Interested persons should contact Darshana Pandit, Sports Guide, on mobile no: 8208576217 for obtaining further details. The teams not fulfilling the formalities in the specified period would not be allowed to take part in the competitions, informed Pallavi Dhatrak, District Sports Officer, Nagpur, on Tuesday. She appealed to teams to participate in large numbers in the district level competitions.

Such hockey competitions would be organised on district, division and state levels for selecting Maharashtra team for taking part in the national level hockey tournament beginning at Shivaji stadium, New Delhi from September 2 to October 9.
