Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut has been remanded to judicial custody upto August 22.
Raut was arrested by Enforcement Department (ED) around midnight of July 31, in connection with a scandal of over a thousand rupees in the redevelopment of Patra Chawl in Mumbai. ED also summoned Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha for enquiry in this connection. Transactions in her bank account are under the ED’s scanner. The transactions in Varsha Raut’s accounts run in crores, received from unknown person.
ED will demand custody of Sanjay Raut for a longer period in the court.
Sanjay Raut has been charged of money laundering in Patra Chawl development project. The scandal runs to Rs 1034 crore for illegally selling FSI (Floor Space Index).
