Don’t sleep with meat eating men: PETA to women, know why

PETA, an animal welfare organisation, has devised a new method for teaching men a lesson. According to a recent study, men are major contributors to the climate crisis due to their meat consumption.

PETA has called on women to stage a sex strike against men who eat more. According to the organisation, it will save the world while also assisting in the prevention of toxic masculinity.

"Men have a 40 percent higher carbon footprint because they're eating more meat than woman."

A study published in the journal PLOS ONE found that men contribute significantly more to the climate catastrophe than women, primarily through meat consumption. Their eating habits result in 41 per cent more greenhouse gases,” said the statement by PETA. It further claimed that men should take “accountability for their actions”.

Targetting a segment of men, PETA claimed, “We all know them-the suburban men with beer bottles in hand, brandishing tongs while cooking sausages on their expensive gas grills.” The organisation further stated that men who make barbeques and grill meat in an attempt to prove their “masculinity to themselves and their fellow humans” are hurting both animals and the environment.

Dr Carys Bennett, representing the organisation, stated that differences between men and women were observed in their diet. More meat intake in men meant that they had a bigger carbon imprint than women. Commenting on PETA’s sex ban idea, Bennett said it was a “tongue in cheek” idea.

Meanwhile, PETA’s proposal to reduce carbon imprints and save the environment involves a meat tax too. Daniel Cox, from the Germany branch of PETA, claimed that a 41 percent meat tax should be imposed on men.
