BCCI Central Contracts 2022–23: Positive Updates For Surya, Hardik Pandya? Players Who Could Be Cut

The BCCI releases annual player contracts for 2022–23, it is anticipated that superstar all-rounder Hardik Pandya and explosive middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav will both receive significant promotions.

Although Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya are both currently employed under Grade C BCCI Central Contracts, it is likely that both will be offered Grade A contracts.

It should be noted that the years 2023 and 2024 are crucial for Indian white-ball cricketers because those years will see the 50-over World Cup and the T20 World Cup respectively. Before the World Cup, several seasoned cricketers are anticipated to retire from T20 and it is likely that the BCCI will name Hardik Pandya as the new captain of the Indian T20 team.

Axar Patel, a well-known spinner who plays for the Indian cricket team in all three game formats is another prominent player who is anticipated to receive a promotion.

Young opener Shubman Gill is also expected to be promoted because of his outstanding performance with the bat in both Test and ODI matches.

Along with all-arounder Deepak Hooda and wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan are anticipated to be placed in the Grade C category.

The Grade C category is anticipated to hold onto Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneswar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Deepak Chahar.

2021-22 player contracts:

Grade A+: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah.

The Grade A+ players receive Rs 7 crore each.

Grade A: R Ashwin, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant

Players in Grade A get Rs 5 crore each.

Grade B: Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma

Grade B players get Rs 3 crore each.

Grade C: Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Shubman Gill, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hanuma Vihari, Suryakumar Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha, Mayank Agarwal.

Grade C players get Rs 1 crore each.
