New Zealand Tour of India Squads Announced, First Two Tests Against Australia by BCCI

The India squads for the ODI and T20I series against New Zealand at home and the first two Test matches against Australia were announced via Twitter by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Notably, KS Bharat is called up to the Indian ODI squad and Prithvi Shaw returns to the T20I squad for India. India’s squad for the first two Tests against Australia includes regular players in the white-ball format Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan.

Sanju Samson was shockingly left off of either squad for the New Zealand vs. India series, possibly due to concerns about his injury-related fitness. As the T20 captain, Hardik Pandya makes a comeback.

After being injured during the Test series against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma is back to captain India against Australia with KL Rahul serving as his backup. Fans of Jasprit Bumrah were saddened to learn that the speedster was unable to make any squads, not even for the crucial Test matches against Australia. Ishan Kishan or KS Bharat will make their debuts as a result of wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant’s absence from India’s Test squad. The team’s decision to include Ravindra Jadeja is contingent upon his fitness.
