The Monsoon session of the Maharashtra State Legislature would begin on July 17. The decision to conduct the session from July 17 to August 4 was taken by the Business Advisory Committee of the State Legislature in its meeting held on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and another minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government on Sunday were present along with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
With nine NCP leaders joining the government as ministers further expansion is not likely before the session. Allotment of portfolios to the new ministers may be done before the Monsoon session.
All of them may be given cabinet berths. Shiv Sena sources said that the allotment of portfolios may be finalized within a couple of days. Besides the new NCP leaders, some members of BJP and Shiv Sena are likely to be inducted in the ministry.
