Suhani Bhatnagar, known for her role as young Babita Kumari Phogat in Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’, died on February 17 in Delhi at the age of 19. According to reports, the actor experienced complications from medication after suffering a fracture in the leg. Aamir Khan’s production house confirmed her demise.
According to media reports, Suhani had previously sustained a leg fracture, and the medication administered during her treatment purportedly caused a side effect. It’s stated that her body began retaining fluid, which is speculated to have contributed to her premature demise. However, an official confirmation on this matter is pending.
Suhani was reportedly undergoing treatment at AIIMS hospital in Delhi for an extended period. Her final rites are scheduled to take place on Saturday.
Suhani gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of young Babita Kumari Phogat in the acclaimed 2016 film, ‘Dangal’. She appeared alongside Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, and Zaira Wasim in the movie. Additionally, she featured in several commercials, further showcasing her talent.
While her co-star Zaira publicly announced her decision to quit the film industry in June 2019, Suhani also took a hiatus from acting to prioritize her studies. She remained inactive on social media, with her last post dating back to November 2021.
