Janakrosh relaunches Traffic Model at Children’s Traffic Park
With the objective of creating awareness about road safety among school students, Janakrosh relaunched the Traffic Model at the Children’s Traffic Park in Dharampeth. The initiative was accompanied by a road safety education programme in which students received practical training on traffic rules through live demonstrations.
The upgraded Traffic Model features replicas of road intersections, traffic signals, zebra crossings, stop lines and various accident-prone situations. Designed to provide hands-on learning, the model aims to help students understand traffic regulations better and develop confidence in following safe road practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Janakrosh Secretary Ravindra Kaskhedikar said the project is unique in the country and adds a new dimension to the concept of a Children’s Traffic Park by providing practical road safety education.
The programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Nagpur City, Nitin Patange; Head Constable Atul Agarkar; President of Blind Relief Association and Mundle English Medium School Makarand Pandharipande; Janakrosh President Prakash Khandekar; Secretary Ravindra Kaskhedikar; and Dr Praveen Lad.
Around 80 students from Mundle English Medium School participated in the programme and took a pledge to follow traffic rules. An interactive session titled “Kaun Banega Roadpati”, conducted by Dnyanesh Pahune, tested the students’ knowledge of road safety through a quiz.
Dnyanesh Pahune informed that the renovation of the Children’s Traffic Park is being undertaken with financial assistance of Rs 1 crore from the Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund of Union Minister and MP Nitin Gadkari. Construction of a hall and landscaping work are currently in progress. He added that road safety awareness programmes will be organised at the park every week.
