The Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Mumbai, has constituted a District Level Vigilance Committee for Nagpur district under the provisions of the Act, 2013, through an official notification issued for the implementation of the Act.
Apart from the ex-officio members, representatives are to be nominated to the committee. Accordingly, the Social Welfare Department has invited applications from eligible and interested individuals.
The committee will include four representatives from the community or organisations working in the field of prevention of manual scavenging and rehabilitation of manual scavengers. All representatives must be residents of Nagpur district, and at least two of the four representatives should be women.
Interested persons may submit their proposals in person during office hours to the Assistant Commissioner, Social Welfare, Nagpur, Wing-B, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Samajik Nyaya Bhavan, opposite Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Shradhanand Peth, Nagpur.
