New Delhi: India announced their 15-member squad for the five-match T20I series against England starting January 22, with Mohammed Shami making a comeback. Shami, who last played in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Final in November 2023, returns after recovering from ankle surgery and knee issues.
Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal are notable absentees, with Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel taking on wicketkeeping duties. Jasprit Bumrah, sidelined with back issues from the Sydney Test, also misses out.
The squad sees the inclusion of Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, and Washington Sundar, who missed the recent T20Is against South Africa due to their participation in the Test series in Australia.
The series will be followed by three ODIs in Nagpur, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad, India’s final ODI assignments before the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan and Dubai.
