Sensex and Nifty fell in early trade on Monday due to fresh tariff concerns and continued foreign fund outflows. The BSE Sensex dropped 343.83 points to 77,516.36, marking its fourth consecutive session of decline.
The NSE Nifty fell 105.55 points to 23,454.40. Among the 30-share blue-chip stocks, Tata Steel, Power Grid, NTPC, Zomato, Sun Pharma, and Bajaj Finance were the major laggards.
Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, and Nestle were among the gainers. In Asian markets, Seoul and Tokyo traded lower, while Shanghai and Hong Kong remained in positive territory. Meanwhile, US markets closed lower on Friday.
