The Maharashtra government has taken a tough stance against the misuse of the Ladli Behna Yojana, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announcing that around 26 lakh beneficiaries across the state, including Nagpur, have been found ineligible.
Speaking on Sunday, CM Fadnavis said, “This scheme is meant only for women who are genuinely eligible. Those who have availed benefits through false information or illegal means have already been identified, and their assistance will be stopped immediately.”
The state had launched a detailed verification campaign, analyzing documents and data to identify ineligible beneficiaries. The move aims to ensure transparency in the scheme and guarantee that only deserving women receive financial support.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this strict action sends a strong message against those attempting to exploit government welfare programs for personal gain.
