Nagpur: Ankita Guha has scripted history by becoming the first individual from Nagpur—man or woman—to be included in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) International Panel of Umpires.
A former leg-spinner who represented Vidarbha, Ankita switched to umpiring just two years ago. Her journey has been remarkable, as she quickly rose through the ranks and was entrusted with officiating in the Eliminator and the Final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) last season.
Her consistent performances caught the attention of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which subsequently recommended her name for the ICC panel.
