The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has tried to coordinate the Hindu almanac and Gregorian calendar to celebrate the beginning of its centenary year. RSS was established by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar on September 27, 1925, which was Vijayadashami day that is, September 27, 1925.
RSS has organised its route march (Pathsanchalan) on September 27, while the main programme will be held at Nagpur’s Reshimbag Ground on October 2, the Vijayadashami day.
RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar stated that the route march will commence simultaneously from three locations. Thousands of RSS volunteers, in the three route marches, will reach Variety Square, Sitabuldi, to demonstrate their strength. Sarsanghachalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat will inspect the route march.
The main programme on Vijayadashami will be held at Reshimbag Ground on October 2. Former President of India Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest. About 7,000 RSS volunteers in uniform will remain present. Kovind and Dr Bhagwat will address the gathering. The number of volunteers this year is expected to be three times the usual attendance. International guests, including those from America, Thailand, Indonesia, South Africa, Ghana, and others, will remain present. Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita, K V Kartik from Deccan Group of Industries, and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserve, Sanjiv Bajaj, will also attend the event.
