Ankita Warade, a forest guard who has spent years safeguarding the animals and forests of Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary and the Pandharkawda Forest Division, is now in need of urgent help from the very society she served.
On September 19, Ankita became a mother to a healthy baby boy. But what should have been a moment of joy turned into a crisis when serious complications during childbirth left her in critical condition. Her kidneys suffered severe damage, and she has since been admitted to the ICU of a private hospital in Nagpur.
Medical Struggle
Doctors have placed Ankita on plasmapheresis — a specialized treatment that purifies the blood by removing harmful substances. The procedure has shown early signs of improvement, giving hope for her recovery. However, the treatment is extremely expensive, with the full course expected to cost around ₹7 lakh.
Mounting Financial Burden
Her husband has already exhausted the family’s savings, spending nearly ₹5 lakh on three sessions. With more sessions urgently needed, the financial pressure has become overwhelming, threatening to halt her treatment midway.
Glimmer of Hope
Despite the daunting situation, there is reason for optimism. Ankita’s newborn son is safe and healthy, and doctors believe her recovery chances are strong if the treatments continue without interruption.
