New Delhi: A dramatic scene unfolded in the Supreme Court on Monday when a lawyer allegedly attempted to create a disturbance in the courtroom of Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai by trying to hurl a shoe at him.
Security personnel and police officers immediately intervened and took the accused into custody. As he was being escorted out, the lawyer reportedly shouted, “Hindustan will not tolerate disrespect to Sanatan.”
Maintaining composure amid the disruption, Justice Gavai calmly remarked, “These things don’t affect me. Continue with the hearing,” before proceedings resumed as usual.
The incident has raised concerns over security arrangements inside courtrooms and the growing instances of unruly behavior during judicial proceedings.
