Palash Nagdevate wins the 10th Jayhind Open Rapid Chess Tournament organized by Jaihind Chess Association at Shri Gajanan Maharaj Mandir premises, Balaji Nagar, Manewada on 2nd November 2025. The event was recognised by Chess Association Nagpur.
A total of 244 players participated in the competition in which 7 rounds were played. In addition to Main event, a separate (B) Section was organised for parents, non-professional and Non-rated players allowing them to participate enthusiastically and try their skill on the chess board. In the (B) Section, Dr. Abhiram Paranjpe from Nagpur won the 1st prize with 6.5 points, followed by Nikhil Bhengare (2nd) and Nikhil Palande (3rd).
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on the same day. Dr. Abhiram Paranjpe was the Chief Guest while social worker Mr. Narendra Satija and senior chess player & coach Mr. Harihar Agasti were the guest of honour. Mr. Jagdish Choudhari, President of Jaihind Chess Association, proposed the vote of thanks. Earleir the event was inaugurated in the morning session at the hands of FIDE Master S.S.Soman, MCA Observer Committee Member in presense of Shri Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary Chess Association Nagpu and Shri Ravi Pandya, a well-known medicine stockist.
Prof. Vinod Kadu, Vice President, Vaibhav Gangaprasad Choudhari General Secretary, Sandesh Shahu Treasurer, Nishant Shahu Secretary and members of Jayhind Chess Association namely Rohit Shahu, Abhijeet Choudhari, Saurabh Choudhari, and Dinesh Atalkar worked tirelessly for the success of the event.
International Arbiter Mr. Shiva Iyer was the Chief Arbiter who was assisted by FA Bharti Dhote, SNA Akash Rewatkar, SNA Shyam Agrawal and others for successful conduction of the event.
