ZEE5’s Marathi original Baai Tujhyapayi has done more than just touch hearts — it’s sparked a movement. The series, which follows Ahilya’s journey of courage and questioning, has inspired real-world conversations on menstrual stigma and gender inequality across Maharashtra.
Through the #MiPanAhilya campaign, ZEE5 brought together artists, influencers, students, and citizens to echo Ahilya’s simple yet powerful question — “का?” (Why?). What began as a reel story has now turned into a movement of real voices, with people across the state raising their red palms in solidarity — a symbol of strength and unity against silence and shame.
The campaign took creativity to the streets and beyond screens. College theatre groups performed moving street plays in Dombivli, each ending with audiences raising their red palms — transforming public spaces into platforms for dialogue and change.
The movement gained further momentum online, with leading Marathi voices like Amruta Khanvilkar and over a hundred regional influencers amplifying Ahilya’s message across social media, turning the #MiPanAhilya campaign into a wave of awareness and solidarity.
Sharing what the movement means to her, Amruta Khanvilkar said, “Ahilya’s story moved me deeply — her courage to question blind faith and her unwavering pursuit of education reflect the spirit of countless women who dare to dream beyond limits. Baai Tujhyapayi doesn’t just tell her story; it awakens something within us — the strength to stand tall, speak up, and believe that change begins with courage. As the #MiPanAhilya movement grows, I stand with every woman who chooses empowerment over silence — with my red palm raised, I say it proudly, #MiPanAhilya.”
With its emotionally charged storytelling and powerful social impact, Baai Tujhyapayi has gone beyond entertainment — becoming a catalyst for dialogue, courage, and change across Maharashtra.
