With this solar boat, it will now be easier to traverse the Pench River, which stretches over more than 20 kilometres. The initiative will facilitate the study of riverine biodiversity and make tiger safaris and jungle tours between East and West Pench more convenient.
The internal journey between the villages of Kirangi Sarra and Navegaon Bandh, which earlier took nearly three hours, will now be completed in just 30 minutes.
A successful trial of a seaplane has already been conducted at Khindsi near Ramtek in Nagpur district. State Minister Ashish Jaiswal has informed that the state government will soon procure a seaplane and launch the service.
In addition to the solar boats, a floating restaurant will also be launched soon, Jaiswal said. A five-bedroom houseboat will also be introduced in the Kolitmara area through the Forest Department.
The minister added that facilities such as the seaplane, solar boat, floating restaurant and houseboat will be made available to the general public at very affordable rates, allowing more tourists to benefit from these services.
