Nagpur Metro will make special travel arrangements for cricket fans during the India–New Zealand T20 cricket matchscheduled to be held at Jamtha on January 21, by extending its last metro service till 12 midnight.
The decision was taken following a joint meeting between Nagpur Metro officials and representatives of the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) to ensure smooth transportation for spectators attending the match.
To prevent traffic congestion on Wardha Road, metro authorities agreed to operate services till midnight and even beyond if required, depending on passenger demand. In addition, NMC feeder buses will be made available from Khapri Metro Station to ferry cricket enthusiasts to the Jamtha stadium.
Officials said the distance from New Airport Metro Station to Jamtha stadium is about 7 km, while Khapri Metro Station is around 6 km away, making metro and feeder bus services a convenient option for spectators.
