Senior political leaders from both major parties were seen actively touring polling centres across West Nagpur on polling day. Congress city president and MLA Indian National Congress Vikas Thakre visited several booths, where he interacted with party workers and boosted their morale. At a few polling centres, he was seen spending time with ground-level workers to assess the voting process.
On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party city president Dayashankar Tiwari, along with a team of BJP office-bearers, also toured multiple polling centres in the area, monitoring the polling situation and interacting with party representatives.
In Ward No. 10, an incident drew attention when a woman voter found that her name was listed at a polling booth in Gittikhadan instead of the booth near Pagalkhana Chowk where she had arrived. A Congress candidate personally escorted the voter on a two-wheeler to the correct polling centre, ensuring she could exercise her franchise.
In Ward No. 11, BJP candidate Bhushan Shingne, who was reportedly attacked late Wednesday night, was seen visiting polling centres with his hand in a plaster, signalling continued campaigning despite the incident.
Overall, the presence of senior leaders kept party workers active across West Nagpur, while polling remained largely peaceful despite isolated issues.
