Large-scale confusion was witnessed across several prabhags in Nagpur on polling day due to discrepancies in the voter list, forcing many citizens to wander between multiple polling centres. Several voters complained that their polling locations were changed at the last moment, while others found their names missing altogether.
In Prabhag 24, residents of Adivasi Prakash Nagar, including Sheikh Sameer Sheikh and nearly 40 members of his extended family, were first directed to a polling centre near Chikhli Devsthan. From there, they were sent to Sanjay Nagar Hindi Primary School. When their names were not found there either, booth officials asked them to return to the earlier centre. The group said they spent the entire morning moving between centres without clarity.
Similar problems were reported in Prabhag 23, where around 100 voters from Jai Bhavani Complex and Ashapura Apartment were informed that their votes had been shifted to Prabhag 24. In many cases, names of family members were split across different prabhags, creating further confusion. Some voters managed to cast their ballots after rushing to new locations, while others skipped voting altogether.
In Prabhag 4 of East Nagpur, a voter visited three schools in search of his name before tearing his voting slip in frustration and returning home without voting. In Prabhag 26, residents alleged that nearly 900 voters had their prabhag changed to Prabhag 25 at the last moment, resulting in poor turnout. Voters demanded better planning and timely communication from election authorities.
