In a significant organisational move, senior corporator Balya (Narendra) Borkar has been appointed as the Leader of the House in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). The announcement was made by City BJP President Dayashankar Tiwari.
Borkar, who has been an active figure in Nagpur’s political arena for several decades, is known for his strong grasp of municipal functioning and his deep connect with grassroots citizens. With extensive administrative experience, he is regarded as one of the most seasoned corporators in the civic body.
By selecting Borkar, the ruling party has placed the responsibility of steering House proceedings on a leader known for loyalty, experience, and a people-centric approach. Party officials believe his leadership will enhance coordination, ensure smoother decision-making, and strengthen the corporation’s focus on public welfare.
Borkar’s appointment is being viewed as a strategic step to reinforce strong governance within the NMC.
