Ahead of the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections, the Maharashtra government has declared February 7 as a paid holiday for employees to facilitate voter participation on polling day.
The directive applies to workers employed in industries, factories and various establishments, including private companies, shops, hotels, IT firms and shopping malls. Special voting arrangements have been made for employees engaged in essential services.
The elections will be held across 12 Zilla Parishads in the state, and the government has urged all eligible voters to exercise their franchise.
