The United Forum of Bank Retirees’ Organizations (UFBRO) and the All India Bank Retirees’ Federation (AIBRF) have launched the second phase of their nationwide protest to press for long-pending demands, including pension revision as per the RBI formula and full GST exemption on retirees’ health insurance.
S.B. Butolia, General Secretary of the Eastern Maharashtra Bank Retirees’ Association, said bank retirees will stage a dharna at Samvidhan Chowk on February 11 from 10 am to 1 pm. Similar protests will also be held in Chandrapur, Amravati, Akola and Jalgaon.
The retirees are also demanding ex-gratia payment for private sector bank retirees, an additional pension option for remaining retirees, an apex-level grievance redressal system at the Indian Banks’ Association, and inclusion of special allowance in pension for post-2012 retirees.
