The ongoing redevelopment of Ajni Railway Station into a Multi-Modal Hub has led to significant inconvenience for daily commuters. Passengers, especially those arriving on terminating trains like the Vande Bharat Express, are being made to disembark at Platform 3, which lacks easy access.
With no level exit available, travellers — including senior citizens, women, and medical patients — are forced to climb steep staircases while carrying luggage. Many have termed the situation unsafe and inhumane.
Passengers have urged railway authorities to temporarily shift terminating trains to Platform 1 or divert them to the main Nagpur Station until the redevelopment work is completed, stressing that passenger safety and dignity must be prioritised during the transition period.
