The latest track from the upcoming Kannada film KD: The Devil, titled “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke,” has sparked significant backlash online shortly after its release. The Hindi dance number features performances by Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt. While some viewers praised Nora Fatehi’s energetic dance moves, many criticised the song’s lyrics and choreography.
Song’s Bar-Set Dance Sequence Draws Attention
“Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” is set inside a crowded dance bar, with Nora Fatehi performing alongside background dancers, while Sanjay Dutt appears among the onlookers in the audience. The actor is prominently featured in the promotional thumbnail, emphasising the star appeal of the track.
The controversy began even before the full song dropped, when its teaser surfaced online earlier in the week. In the clip, Nora Fatehi is seen wearing a heavily embellished ghaghra choli and performing a hook step where the pallu slips suggestively before being lifted again—a moment that quickly caught attention across social media.
Lyrics Spark Criticism From Viewers
After the full lyrical video was released, much of the criticism shifted toward the song’s lyrics. Several viewers pointed out that the opening verse uses double entendre, initially suggesting a sexual reference before revealing it refers to a drink bottle.
The song features vocals by Mangli, lyrics written by Raqeeb Alam, and music composed by Arjun Janya. However, many viewers felt the track prioritises shock value over musical quality.
Some critics also questioned how such lyrics and choreography align with the film’s 1970s underworld setting, which forms the backdrop of the story.
Social Media Reactions Intensify
The YouTube comment section for the song quickly filled with strong reactions.
One viewer wrote, “Ashleelta (vulgarity) on the top.” Another commented, “The lyrics are so cheap and vulgar.”
Some users criticised the choreography and questioned why such content is still being produced in 2026. One comment read, “Wtf is this? It’s 2026, still this kind of song and action.”
Others expressed disappointment over Sanjay Dutt’s involvement, saying they expected better from the veteran actor.
Director Prem Also Faces Criticism
The backlash has also been directed at the film’s director, Prem (credited as Prems in the song description).
Several viewers posted harsh remarks about the creative choices behind the track. One user wrote, “We, Kannada Cinema Industry, disown this showman, Prems.” Another said the song’s style fell below expectations even compared to other regional music videos.
Despite the criticism online, the film’s promotional campaign continues.
