In a shocking incident highlighting the dangers of overexertion during fitness training, a 23-year-old youth from Nagpur suffered a life-threatening brain artery rupture (artery dissection) allegedly due to excessive workout at a gym. Timely medical intervention during the crucial “golden hour” helped doctors save his life.
According to reports, the youth, identified as Om Bhoyar, had gone to the gym on April 10 as part of his routine. However, he reportedly pushed himself beyond his physical limits during the workout. Shortly after, he began experiencing severe discomfort, including intense headache and vomiting. Initially, the seriousness of his condition went unnoticed.Within a few hours, his condition deteriorated, and he suffered a paralytic stroke. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors diagnosed a ruptured brain artery. Acting swiftly within the golden hour, doctors performed emergency surgery and managed to bring him out of critical danger.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the growing trend of extreme fitness practices among youth. Medical experts have urged gym-goers to avoid overexertion, follow proper guidance, and prioritize safety while exercising to prevent such life-threatening complications.
